Great grinder and excellent service from Fairfax

I bought this grinder to complement my Gaggia Classic that I have had for 5 years. It replaces a Gaggia MM grinder that, although passable, never produced the best grind. (I found I was buying beans to suit the grinder rather than grinding to suit me!) My Ascaso i-Mini is awesome! It looks beautiful next to my stainless steel Gaggia Classic. The stepless adjustment now allows me to dial in the grind accurately. I used a lot of old beans when first dialling in (I expected this) but now adjustment is infrequent and easy. New users should note that the adjustment is so fine that a very small change takes one or two complete turns of the knob. The grinder does retain some grounds between grinds but I read that this is an issue for most doserless grinders. In general I am very happy. As to dealing with Fairfax what can I say. The price was the best I had seen. Once I had placed my order I was kept informed by email exactly when to expect delivery and the delivery took place speedily and arrived on time. Excellent service Fairfax, I will be dealing with you again.

Can achieve a very find grind with it, reasonably quiet (a coffee grinder is never going to be silent!), solid. on the down side it can be a bit messy with the grinds spraying a bit. could be a bit of pain if you wnat to change grind settings as there are no markings to indicate where you were.

Very happy with the ascaso i-mini grinder. With the dial on the side I'm able to get just the right grind for my coffee. Espresso tastes so much better. It also looks great next to my polished alu ascaso dream.
