If you take one look around the we you can't help but notice the praise this grinder has received on the various enthusiast sites (coffee geek etc). Having previously used various blade grinders, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade. My decision was made easier when I noticed that Fairfax had reduced the price, over what it had been the previous week!
Ordered on Tuesday morning, received Wednesday by UPS which was a pleasant surprise as couriers usually take ages to find our address. Securely packaged, no problems there.
Very impressed with it so far, it's quieter than my old grinder (lower RPM I expect,), and I've been able to get much sweeter shots out of my gaggia Classic with the same beans. There are some nice touches like the tinted bean hopper which is supposed to reduce light on the beans, and it overall feels very solid and well put together.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this grinder, and the service I got from Fairfax over the phone in deciding which model to go for was excellent.
I have heard a lot about the Rocky grinders and decided it was about time to invest in one (I’ve been using a krups blade grinder, it’s been replaced twice). So happy I did, the espresso I get out of my espresso machine now is perfect. The only thing I do not like about the rocky is its bulkier than I thought. To be honest that does not bother me now.
