Espressione ESE Pods Espresso Blend
Vintage Blend combines a proportion of Robusta Coffee to give the bite associated with the taste available in coffee bars throughout Italy; it produces great crema and can be enjoyed at any time. (80% Arabica, 20% Robusta)
After extensive comparison, Espressione have come out top
We use pods in our Pavoni pump machine, and have been totally converted to doing this over ground coffee. Less mess, and I think it's actually more economical as there are fewer wasted grounds. With 4-5 cups a day between us we get through quite a lot of pods, so price is a concern as well as taste.
I trialed the Illy Espresso pods, and Caffee Prima from Garraways. The Illy pods were pretty good, but were too darkly roasted for my taste (resulting in a slightly bitter cup). Caffee Prima were dreadful - didn't even bother to finish the pack. The Espressione Espresso pods were the clear taste winner, and worked out most economical too. I realise that coffee tasting is very subjective, so you may disagree, but in my experience I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these pods.
